> Wheels

I went though a lot of pondering before I decided on what wheels to run. I initially wanted to maintain a semi-scale look to the truck, where I would run the Landmax F150 body and some suitable wheels. However it quickly dawned on me that these wheels would simply not have enough beef to handle the potential power of this truck.

So I ultimatly went with function over form, and settled on a set of SinTec truck wheels that I had run on my 1/8 buggy. These wheels are not unlike 2.2 truck wheels with a 1/8 buggy type hex, and also give quite a bit of off-set for a widened stance. To make them a bit mor discreet I dyed them black.

> Bodywork

After selecting the larger wheels I figured it unlikely that I could make the body fit, so I made provisions for running the truck "nekkid".

To keep dirt & crud out of vital areas such as tranny, electronics and such I made some "dust shields" and body panels to cut down on the mess.

Up front I covered the servo mount with some 2 mm aluminum, and then fashoined some thin stainless steel sheet into dust shields to cover the front end of the truck. I also covered up the front & side lower portion of the rollcage with 2 mm c/f panels.

In the rear of the truck I covered up the tail section with some 2 mm aluminum, both top and bottom. Finally, in order to "firm up" the tail section I mounted a section of stainless steel tubing on each side that ran from the rollcage/shock mount back to a rear channel which I ran the end of the mufflers through. When connected this braced up the entire tail section of the truck.
